We live in Santa Barbara, California and are used to beautiful places. Carmel is a true treasure. We stayed at the Hotel Abrego as we noticed its convenient location and well priced rooms, I have to say that we really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. As well as ,The staff, the fireplaces, the hot tub, clean updated rooms And the caring atmosphere that we had during our 2 night stay. We look forward to returning and know that there is many options in this area. But we found a loving home at Hotel Abrego And I'd like to say thank you, To all the staff for your continued Support during our stay and our return trips, That we are looking forward to in the next few months, plus you're warm smiles. It’s a hidden gem and competitively priced with the Marriott’s and the like - close to the old wharf and the pier restaurants. Parking is tight but manageable. If you arrive after 10 - you will not find any parking. Rooms are spacious. Our AC was unplugged and had to spend 10 mins figuring out how to make it work - but worked in the end. front desk had no idea how to. 5/5 stars for the breakfast- very good options and definitely much tastier than the chain hotels. You will love the breakfast!

We were pleasantly surprised at how nice this hotel was. We spent the weekend there for our anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This was my wife's first time visiting Monterey and she loved it. The hotel was perfect and the staff were amazing! The only recommendation I have is to get a better warming system for breakfast and to add a waffle station to the choices. Thank you for a fantastic experience.

Hotel with credibility which is rare to find these days. I accidentally made 3 bookings and they helped me to refund the other 2 room bookings with Expedia. Plus they have great rate just on their website! The room is clean and has a fire place and with character with good access to all the scenery spots! Great value for what you get, breakfast, clean and characteristic room, even a glass of wine at night! HIGHLY RECOMMEND
